Camp Weaver requires all staff be first aid/CPR certified, and lifeguard certified for those working on the waterfront.We will offer first aid / CPR certification during staff training as well as throughout the spring. Camp Weaver will pay lifeguard certification and other certifications/trainings that are applicable. During larger weeks of camp non-cabin program staff maybe required to help out/stay in a cabin with counselor responsibilities.

These positions involve working with all campers, programs and activities at camp. These people will work hands-on with campers, in cabin groups, day camp groups and activity areas, to give them an awesome summer experience. They should love children, be enthusiastic, be multitalented, and believe in Camp Weaver’s mission to provide quality Overnight and Day Camp programs. Day Camp Counselors generally live off site and help run one of our three bus sites. The Overnight Camp Counselors are required to stay on site during the week and help run activities.
This position involves responsibility of leading a cabin group or a day camp group, with the assistance of a Jr. Counselor. This person will take the lead and care for a cabin of children, helping them to feel “at home” in a camp setting. They will also lead activities that they are interested in teaching. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: leading an activity, leading a group of day campers, working bus sites, leading daily devotions, assisting and participating in camp wide programs and acting as a positive role models for all campers. Along with a Jr. Counselor, a Senior Counselor lives in a cabin with a group of campers at a ratio of one staff to seven campers. Pay starts at $190 per week

This position involves responsibility of leading a cabin group or a day camp group, with the assistance of a Jr. Counselor and/or a Senior Counselor. This person will assist in care for a cabin of children, helping them to feel “at home” in a camp setting. They will also lead activities that they are interested in teaching. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: leading an activity, leading a group of day campers, working bus sites, leading daily devotions, assisting and participating in camp wide programs and acting as a positive role models for all campers. Along with a Jr. Counselor, a Counselor lives in a cabin with a group of campers at a ratio of one staff to seven campers. Pay starts at $185 per week
This position involves responsibility of helping lead a cabin group or a day camp group, with the assistance of a Counselor and/or a Senior Counselor. Their primary responsibility is to assist in caring for the campers in their cabin or day camp group. At times the Junior Counselor may lead all aspects of the cabin or day camp group. The Junior Counselor will also teach activities. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: assisting at an activity, leading a group of day campers, working bus sites, leading daily devotions, assisting and participating in camp wide programs and acting as a positive role models for all campers. Along with a Counselor, a Junior Counselor lives in a cabin with a group of campers at a ratio of one staff to seven campers. Must have gone through a C.I.T. program. Pay starts at $180 per week.
These positions will provide leadership for the Support Staff and all campers. These people will be a key part of a quality camp experience. They will serve as a vital link between the Support Staff and Directors, while providing leadership to various areas of camp. Pay starts at $200 per week.
The Overnight Camp Coordinator is responsible for assisting the camping program director with managing the overnight camp program. This will include, but not limited to , scheduling staff and activities, assisting with camper needs such as discipline, homesickness, and ensuring camper accountability. The Overnight CampCoordinator is also responsible for abiding by ACA standards that relate to the overnight camp programs and for providing top-notch customer service for campers, parents and staff at all times. Other responsibilities will include supervising activity areas, assist in training staff, organize and coordinate evening programs and camp wide activities, and to be a resource for staff. Completed two years of college or equivalent. Must be 21 or older.
The Day Camp Coordinator is responsible for assisting the camping program director with managing the day camp program. This will include, but not liminted to schduling staff in day camp groups, assisting with campers needs such as discipline, transporting campers on camp, and ensuring camper accountability. The Day Camp Coordinator is also responsible for abiding by ACA standards that relate to the day camp programs and providing top-notch customer service for campers, parents and staff at all times. Other responsibilities will include coordinating staff for three bus sites, organize group activities for day camp, verifying daily attendence of day campers, preparing a newsletter for staff and parents. Completed two years of college or equivalent. Must be 21 or older.
The Activities/Logistics is responsible for a lot of the little details that are needed to make camp run smoothly. Some of the tasks may include but are not limited to, running the camp store for Day Camp as well as Overnight Camp, activity log books, assisting in staff training, making sure activities are running safely and efficiently. The Activities/Logistics Coordinator is also responsible for abiding by ACA standards that relate to camp activities and for providing top-notch customer service for campers, parents and staff at all times. This person needs to be detail oriented, be able to motiviate staf, and have a positive attiude. Completed two years of college or equivalent. Must be 21 or older.
These positions will provide leadership for the Support Staff and all campers. These people will be a key part of a quality camp experience. They should be eager to work with all summer camp programs.
These positions involve managing a certain activity area. These applicants will be certified or have experience in teaching in specific activity area. They should be comfortable making decisions to keep safety, learning, and fun in proper balance. Responsibilities for the job include, but are not limited to, the following: ensure proper care/maintenance of equipment, ensure proper opening and closing of that activity area daily, planning age appropriate events and challenges for each camper, teaching skills to the activity staff while creating an enthusiastic work environment, providing leadership throughout camp, weekly duties rotation with other program staff, abiding by ACA standards. Completed one year of college or equivalent.
This position involves teaching campers, who are rising 11th graders, the necessary skills to become a strong future counselor. This person will be a source of leadership for CITs and campers of all ages. They should be comfortable teaching “teen-relevant” subjects, providing an environment for teens to thrive in, and be able to motivate teens to be a key part of camp. Responsibilities for the job include, but are not limited to the following: implementing CIT curriculum, teaching CITs to be accountable to a schedule and specific duties, giving instruction to CITs on how to assist in the cabin and throughout camp, leading service projects, leading devotions, cabin responsibilities and weekly duties rotation with other program staff. Completed two year of college or equivalent. Must be 21 or older.
This position involves teaching campers, who are rising 8-10th graders the necessary skills to be both a good future counselor, as well as a good team member. This person will be a source of leadership for LITs and campers of all ages. They should be able to help teens explore their talents both as an individual and as a group, and provide structure to keep the program effective. Responsibilities for the job include, but are not limited to the following: implementing LIT curriculum, teaching LITs how to assist in a tribe with younger children, leading service projects, leading devotions, assisting with opening/closing ceremonies and weekly duties rotation with other program staff.
Completed two years of college or equivalent.
This position involves running one of our bus sites, Spears, First Baptist, or Camp Weaver. This person is in charge of, but not limited to, checking in all day campers that get dropped off to their area, ensureing temperature checks are taken weekly, talking with parents and reassuring them about their children, answering any questions parents may have, maintaining a safe environment for other staff and campers, as well as enforcing safety and disipline on the bus. A bus site leader must posses strong communication skills in regards to dealing with parents, be very responsible in regards to safety, and conscious of the needs of our parents and campers.
Completed two years of college or equivalent. Must be 20 or older.
This position involes assisting the nurse and Program Directors in overseeing the infirmary. High organizational skills area must for this position. Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting the nurse with paper work during check in an through out the week, insuring all campers turn in health forms, assisting in delivering meds, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, complying with all ACA standards, assisting in camper and staff needs in regard to minor medical need.
Completed two years of college or equivalent. Must be 20 or older.
This position involves assisting in the preparation and clean up of meals prepared daily in Herman Dining Hall. This person will cook and clean up after one or two meals a day. Other responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, working in activity areas, participating in camp wide programs and acting as positive role models for all campers and staff.
This position involves assisting our maintenance director in the caretaking of Camp Weaver grounds. This person will perform tasks like grass cutting and general maintenance of buildings and facilities. Other responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, working in activity areas, participating in camp wide programs and acting as positive role models for all campers and staff.
